News flash: My boyfriend is a stereotype.

If you've been in my area over the last week or so, you have had, or know someone who has had, a pretty bad head cold or a really bad stomach virus. I had the cold. Jarret had the stomach virus. Jarret was out of work for a week. I went into work only to have my boss tell me "those sick days don't carry over, you know." And I still didn't stay home. I am a glutton for punishment, apparently.

Anyway, Jarret was so weak last week that he couldn't even talk to me over the phone, we just texted. On Friday, I was over at my dad's house, where a brand new flat screen hd-tv was just installed. My dad turned on the tv, and there was no sound. I happened to text Jarret asking him if he knew what could be wrong.

My cell phone rang. It was him!

I picked it up. "Baby, how are you feeling?"

A hoarse, almost nonhuman voice answered. "Did you check the wires in the cable box..."

Your girlfriend doesn't talk to you for a week and misses you terribly. But if an hd-tv is in trouble...
